Toronto-based Susan Dennis is strongly grounded in Canadian contemporary piano literature. She has won numerous honours in Canada, including the National Baldwin Competition, the National Competitive Music Festival, and the ORMTA Young Artist Competition, as well as taking a leadership role in the Alliance of Canadian New Music Projects and Contemporary Showcase.

Ms. Dennis holds degrees in performance and pedagogy from the Royal Conservatory of Music, the University of Windsor, and the University of Michigan where she was a teaching assistant at the college and preparatory levels. Her piano teachers included Gregory Butler, Louis Nagel, Eugene List, and Franz Josef Hirt. She has been a scholarship student at the Berne Conservatory in Switzerland and the summer chamber music program at the Banff Centre.

Dedicated to her students, Ms. Dennis has continued a prolific teaching career as a pedagogy and piano faculty member of the Glenn Gould School, the Community School of the Royal Conservatory of Music, and the Toronto School for Strings and Piano, as well as teaching privately and accompanying in the Toronto area. Her background as examiner for the RCM and adjudicator for numerous festivals in Canada and abroad helps her instill the highest levels of musical proficiency and artistry in her piano students, several of whom have gone on to win occolades in musical competitions and festivals.
